As head of library services at Providence St. Peter, I lead the library's daily activities and manage special projects, such as the creation of a library catalog, selection of a public OPAC, and reconstruction of a new library website. Staff management and high-level medical reference are also part of the job duties.
After completing a 40 module training course covering topics from reference sources to website development guidelines, I entered into this professional level librarian position conducting high-level reference and website development. In addition, I managed the completion of a number of special projects including teaching classes, conducting research surveys, training staff and preparing online tutorials.
The AHEC (Area Health Education Center) digital library provides electronic resources to residents and preceptors throughout North Carolina. As a database administrator, I helped maintain uniform indexed data and fix the user-side interface to support the many regional AHEC sites in North Carolina.
